Let me explain how to appear offline on League of Legends using a simple firewall rule.
This method works without any third-party programs and you can switch it on or off easily.
Here are the steps to appear offline:
- Close League of Legends if it's running
- Right-click Command Prompt and select "Run as Administrator"
- Copy and paste one of these commands based on your region:
- For North America: netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="lolchat" dir=out remoteip=192.64.174.69 protocol=TCP action=block
- For Europe West: netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="lolchat" dir=out remoteip=185.40.64.69 protocol=TCP action=block
- Press Enter. You should see "Ok."
- Start League of Legends
This method blocks your connection to the chat server. Your friends will see you as offline, but you can still play games normally.
The game just shows "disconnected from pvp chat" at the bottom of your client.
To appear online again:
- Open Command Prompt as Administrator
- Enter this command: netsh advfirewall firewall delete rule name="lolchat"
- Press Enter
- Restart League of Legends
If this doesn't work, check two things:
- Make sure you ran Command Prompt as Administrator
- Verify you copied the correct command for your region
This method helps when you want to play without interruptions.
You can play solo without declining game invites or explaining why you want to play alone.
